A student of the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University in South Africa has threatened to take the school’s zebras hostage.
This is as the Fees-Must-Fall movement and management continue to clash over the reopening of the university.
But spokeswoman for the university, Zandile Mba-bela said the school was aware of the threat to the zebras but takes it as a joke.
The “threat” was initially made in a voice note and circulated after the university announced that it would be reopening campus.
The notion quickly spread on social media. But university authorities have warned that anyone who tries to approach the Zebras now, will be putting themselves in danger.
